Most of this term in hurumanu 1 we have been studying the lives of sports musical local national and international heroes .
My definition of a hero is someone who uses their live to make people happy
I made slides about 6 sporting heroes. They were Marcus Armstrong , Florence Andrews , Riche McCaw , Maria Folau , LeBron James , Nadia Comaneci I .
I also made some slides about a local hero who achieved great things. Her name was Elsie Violet Locke she was a New Zealand communist writer, historian, and leading activist in the feminism and peace movements.
We read about a musical group called the Crowded House , they were said to be heroes for just one day when they performed in Christchurch .
We also discussed the meaning of ‘Hero Worship’ The hero I worship is Nadia Comaneci
The earthquake heroes I researched were Yvette Pomeroy , Windsor House Retirement Complex , Wayne Turner , Stepping Stone Trust , Van Asch Deaf Education Center , Unlimited School , Trevor Holder , Tahu Huriwai
